Different Kinds Of Bath Rugs

There are many kinds of bath rugs to meet the preferences of consumers. These kinds of rugs are primarily used in bathrooms to help facilitate drying of the feet and to prevent tracking wet footprints all over the bathroom and outside to the room. These are useful for helping prevent accidents from slipping due to wet patches on the floor and slipping due to wet feet.

There have been many accidents due to wet patches on the floor from wet feet from the bathroom. Some accidents are also due to rugs that tend to slip easily when people tread on them. The choice of bath rugs to be used in the bathroom is actually according to the likes and preferences of the person who will use it. The colors of the bath rugs are in various shades imaginable and are only limited by the manufacturer’s imagination.

Bath Rugs With Non-Slip Backing

These kinds of bath rugs have a sort of backing, either made from rubber or some plastic material that prevent the rug from slipping when trod on. Not all bath rugs need a form of backing because not all of them slip that easily when they are stepped on. Those rugs that do slip when pressure is applied via being stepped on need a rubber backing to avoid accidents.

Usually bath rugs with rubber backing are not as absorbent as cotton rugs. Cotton rugs are very absorbent and can actually reduce the amount of water or moisture in your feet. These are also hardier than those with backing because sometimes the backing cracks easily when they are being cleaned. Sometimes, the backing even comes off when they are washed clean.

Cotton Bath Rugs

Cotton bath rugs are usually the most effective in reducing moisture or wetness in our feet. This means when you are barefoot and walk away from the cotton rug, your feet are almost dry and may leave no water on the floor. Some cotton rugs are integrated with polyester or other synthetic fibers that reduce the efficacy of the rug. These rugs are cheaper than the ones made from pure 100 % cotton.

Choosing the right kind of rug for the bathroom is necessary and dependent on the needs of the user. Some bathroom floors are more slippery than others and will need backing to avoid accidents. Bath rugs made with cotton are for those who prioritize drying their feet and have less slippery floors.
